Saló(n) del Manga de Barcelona 2018
- 1-4 November
Here our review to the anime/manga convention in Barcelona:
We only went on the weekend which means on saturday and sunday. It was located at the Fira Barcelona. The venue was so big, like 75,000 m2 and 4 or 5 different arenas. Even though many visitors came, there was not much pushing meaning there was a lot of space between the stands. The weather was perfect: it wasn’t too warm or too cold.
The structure of the arenas were well done whereas two mostly contained merch stands and others were focused either on Japanese food, photo sessions and cosplay stuff/help. There was even a PuriPix (PuriKura) machine which made a lot of fun and so we used it on both days.
We spent an awesome time and had a lot of fun. It was our first time at this convention and we are so happy to have been there.
Our line up was:
Saturday: Crowley Eusford and Ferid Bathory from Owari no Seraph
Sunday: Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji
We also really appreciated that many people asked for pictures regarding both costumes. Not only we were happy about it but also those who took the pictures liked our characters. They were all so nice and kind to us. We also met many great and amazing cosplayers from various anime/manga. And we are very thankful and thrilled to have taken pictures with them.
Noragami & Tokyo Ghoul
Owari no Seraph
Yuri!!! on Ice, Color Pointe and Corpse Bride
and of course Star Wars
We also bought many stuff such as Kimono-like shirts, Black Butler Artbook, Stuffed Toys, Figures, Rubber Straps, Keychains, Buttons and Posters.
All in all, the anime convention in Barcelona was one of the best we have been so far. The organisation and the structure of the venues were well done. Next year we will definitely come back. Another positive aspect is (comparing to the AniMagic): we were allowed to bring food and drinks into the venue. We hope you enjoyed our review.
